COMPLIMENTARY COACH PASSES

Complimentary coach passes are provided based on the total number of registered competitors from your academy:

• Under 3 competitors: Please contact us at info@NewbreedBJJ.com to request a coach pass.
• 3–10 competitors: 2 Coach Passes
• 11–15 competitors: 3 Coach Passes
• 16–20 competitors: 4 Coach Passes
• 21+ competitors: 5 Coach Passes

MAT-SIDE COACHING

• One coach per competitor is permitted at the mat table inside the barricaded competition area.
• Competitors ages 18 and older: Matches will not be delayed while waiting for a coach. Delays can affect the entire event schedule, so adult competitors should be prepared to compete when called.
• Competitors ages 17 and under: We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate youth competitors who are waiting for a coach.

Please keep these policies in mind when determining how many coaches your academy should bring to an event.

• Brackets and the event schedule are posted on Smoothcomp on the Friday before each Saturday event.
• To view your bracket, match times, and event-specific schedule, log in to Smoothcomp, select your event, and click “Brackets & Schedule.”
• Smoothcomp is the primary source for bracket updates, match times, and event information before and during the tournament.
• An announcement will also be posted on NEWBREED’s Facebook and Instagram pages when brackets and schedules go live.
• Competitors must report to the competitor bullpen at least 15 minutes before their scheduled match time.

• Results and bracket updates are available in real time through Smoothcomp.
• Competitors can log in to their Smoothcomp account from their mobile device to view current bracket status, match information, and event results.
• Team Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams receive custom banners and trophies, which are awarded at the event on the day of competition. Coaches should check with event staff before leaving to confirm whether their team is in contention for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Team awards are not mailed after the event.
• Individual Awards: 1st-place Advanced Division winners, for all ages, receive championship belts.
• Awards may vary by event and are subject to change at the discretion of NEWBREED event management.

• Competitors may make changes to their registration until 5:00 PM on the Friday before the event, which is the final registration deadline.
• To make changes, log in to your Smoothcomp account and update your registration directly.
• If the final registration deadline has passed and you are not satisfied with your bracket placement, you may cancel your registration by 5:00 PM on Friday before the event and receive a credit for a future NEWBREED event.

• To view the competitor list, log in to your Smoothcomp account and select the NEWBREED event you are interested in.
• From the event page, select the “Registrations” tab to view the current list of registered competitors.
• The competitor list is updated in real time as registrations are added or changed.

• Competitors may cancel their registration for any reason until 5:00 PM on the Friday before the event.
• When canceling before the deadline, competitors may choose either a full refund or a credit voucher for a future NEWBREED event.
• Credit vouchers may be used at any NEWBREED event nationwide and expire one year from the date issued.
• To cancel, log in to your Smoothcomp account and cancel your registration before the deadline.
• You do not need to contact the NEWBREED office to cancel your registration or use your credit voucher.
• No refunds or credit vouchers will be issued after 5:00 PM on the Friday before the event.

• Multiple family competitor discounts are available for immediate family members only.
• To request a discount code, email info@newbreedbjj.com.
• Please include your first and last name, the number of competitors being registered, and the first and last name of each competitor. Providing this information will help expedite your request.
• NEWBREED may require proof of relationship before issuing a discount code.
• Eligible family members include parents, children, siblings, and spouses.
• Teammates, cousins, coaches, and students are not eligible for family competitor discounts.

• Weigh-ins are typically held on Saturday. Select tournaments may also offer Friday afternoon weigh-ins. When available, Friday weigh-in details will be announced in advance and listed on the specific event information page.
• Youth weigh-ins begin at 8:00 AM.
• Adult weigh-ins begin at 10:00 AM.
• Adult competitors must weigh in at least 60 minutes before their division begins.
• Competitors who arrive late for weigh-ins may be disqualified, and no refund or credit will be issued.
• Competitors do not need to weigh in wearing their Gi.
• Competitors only need to weigh in once, even when competing in multiple divisions.
• NEWBREED allows a 1-pound weight allowance.
• If a competitor does not make weight, we will make every effort to move them into an appropriate available bracket.
• Moving a competitor to another bracket is not guaranteed and will only be done when an appropriate division is available.
• If no appropriate bracket is available, the competitor will be issued a credit at the tournament for future use.
• No refunds will be issued for competitors who do not make weight.
